The 6 spacious rooms at Casale l’Antico Carro have been restored in keeping with the classic Tuscan style. Each room features terracotta floors, ceilings with exposed wooden beams, and wrought-iron double beds. This classic charm blends harmoniously with all modern comforts to ensure a stay dedicated to total relaxation.
Each room features air conditioning/heating, digital satellite TV, an internal phone, a personal freezer, a safe, and free Wi-Fi. Thanks to the spacious layout, upon request and subject to availability, two double rooms can also be converted into two separate single beds. In some accommodations, it is also possible to add a third bed or a crib for children. Small to medium-sized pets are allowed upon request for a one-time cleaning fee; the hotel will provide bowls and a mat in the room.
Located on the first and second floors of the property, the rooms are all named after parts of the family’s old farm wagon and the historical use of these spaces.

History: Located across from the main entrance, this room was originally the owners’ bedroom and has remained intact, retaining its original layout and ceiling. It features a distinctive niche in the wall that once housed a vanity.
Details: Decorated in shades of blue, it features a double bed or, upon request, two separate single beds, an en suite bathroom with a shower, and exposed stone accents.
History: A splendid double suite located to the right of the main entrance—originally the owners’ “kitchenette” and small bedroom—it is the most spacious of all the rooms and also the most distinctive and historic, with its ceiling featuring original exposed beams and a sweeping view of Cortona and the farmhouse’s large garden, thanks to the large arched window and the window in the room. Next to the bed, you can also see the large exposed stones that mark the extension added to the farmhouse in the past.
Details: Decorated in shades of red, it features a double bed and a third pull-out bed, as well as a spacious en suite bathroom with marble accents, a whirlpool tub/shower with chromotherapy, and a niche with glass shelves and original exposed beams.
History: It was once used as an attic and granary and was also used to store seasonal vegetables and wine produced by the grandparents.
Details: Characterized by high ceilings with exposed beams and a bathroom with a shower situated on a raised level above the entrance staircase. It offers a striking dual view—on one side of the countryside and on the other of Cortona and the beautiful pool set in the farmhouse’s large lawn.
History: A charming room that was once used by the grandparents to hang and dry the grapes harvested for the production of the traditional Vin Santo, embellished by an original period stone that serves as the lintel above the entrance door.
Details: Featuring a large wrought-iron four-poster bed, wooden-beamed ceilings, and a splendid view of the surrounding hills. It has an en suite bathroom with a shower.
Just a short walk from the main farmhouse stands our charming annex, a building steeped in history that, in the early 20th century, served as a curing house and drying room for tobacco grown in the area. Today, this historic farm annex has been fully restored to offer a private and intimate lodging experience.
The annex features two beautiful double bedrooms, connected by a charming staircase made of pietra serena and a cozy shared sitting area. Nestled amid the greenery of our flower-filled garden, this accommodation is ideal for those seeking complete tranquility, traditional charm, and a unique view of Cortona.
History: Starting in the 1950s, this space served as a barn for livestock, as evidenced by the antique feeding trough or “greppia” that was still present during the restoration. Later, along with the shared sitting area, it was used as a storage area for the family’s farming tools.
Details: Although it is the smallest of all the rooms, today it is a comfortable double room located on the ground floor, featuring an elegant private bathroom with a travertine shower. The room is therefore barrier-free and accessible to guests with mobility challenges and disabilities.
History: In the early 1900s, this room was used as a drying room for tobacco grown in the local fields, as evidenced by the artifacts found on site.
Details: A very bright room featuring four windows on all four sides of the building—facing “all directions”—offering an incredible 360-degree view of Cortona, the entire valley, and the surrounding area. It features an original exposed wooden beam ceiling and a private bathroom with a shower.
